The junior section now coming to the end of their second season after major leaps forward in setting up a partnership with Up Holland High for use of pitches and facilities for post-match entertaining, building a full U15’s squad from scratch and further strengthening the other squads. We as a junior committee felt the one thing missing was the missing end of season tour so set ourselves the task of organising not just one tour but two. One for the U9/10 squad with the U11/12’s and the second for the U15 squad. Whilst also planning a end of season party for the youngest squad in the club the U7/8’s
100 CLUB
100 Club Update
We have 43 names signed up for the 100 Club. All Standing Orders were presented to the banks on the 6th January 2012 with the aim of holding the first draw on the last Saturday of January (28th).
The draw is open for entries throughout the year and as the prize money is pro rata based on the number of members we will continue to accept entries.
Prior to each draw the account will be checked and money not received will mean that person will not be entered into the draw. The number of people in the draw each month will be posted with the winners name and number on the Orrell RUFC website.
We will contact the winner using contact details we have available for them at the time.
Pass the word around to other members and encourage them to join. Remember, all profits will be used to support the club and its objectives.
If you would like to join the 100 club please contact David Robinson at D.robinson@thefloatglassconsortium.com or tel 07765 402951.

Throughout the day we ran an agillity course that originally was aimed at attracting the kids of Shevington turned out to also attract the big kids of shevington including Fire, Police and st John's Ambulance in a battle of the services. The day also featured a game between Shevington strikers FC and an Orrell juniors tags team in which the 1st half was football and 2nd was rugby with each club winning a half but it turned out to be each others games but great fun was had by all. The Orrell Junior Presentation Evening was held on Saturday 11th June at
Birchley St Mary's Club, off Trent Road, Billinge, WN5 7QT.
The Presentation Evening was a fantastic night as the turn out of players and their families was brilliant. Throughtout the entire evening there was a great sense of 'Team spirit' and a friendly atmosphere.
The awards were presented to the players by one of Orrells own first team players, Peter Sprung, who has been playing with Orrell from being a junior, which shows great passion and dedication to the club.
The evening was packed full of activities, from the awards to quizzes and games as well as a disco. There was a brilliant buffet produced for night which was made in-house by some of our volunteers.
The evening was thoroughly enjoyable for all and a great success.
The junior committee would like to say a big thank you to all that attended, and to those who contributed their time and effort into making our night fantastic.
Thank you for your continued support.
Remember training is on Wednesdays throughout the summer 6-7pm at St John Rigby's. We look forward to seeing everyone back for next season and maybe even some new faces also.
